Cali CBG: Californian 8.5% CBG flower with ultra-low THC

Cali CBG is a hemp strain of Californian genetics: as the name suggests, it comes from the tradition of California cannabis, one of the most respected breeding schools in the world. It was selected for a profile dominated by CBG (cannabigerol) at 8.5%, with 0.07% THC and no CBD. Appearance

Cali CBG features large, elongated buds with a classic cone shape, medium density and a soft, voluminous structure. What is CBG

What is CBG? It is cannabigerol, known as the "mother cannabinoid" because its acidic form, CBGA, is the precursor from which the plant produces CBD and THC. In most strains only traces remain. Strains like Cali CBG, however, are selected to retain a high concentration. Like CBD, CBG is not psychoactive.

CBG vs CBD: differences and possible effects

CBD and CBG are both non-psychotropic cannabinoids, but they differ in structure and in the way they appear to interact with the body.

CBD (cannabidiol): it is the most studied cannabinoid after THC. According to several studies, it seems to act indirectly on the endocannabinoid system and is mainly associated with a feeling of relaxation and calm, which is why many people prefer it for unwinding in the evening.

CBG (cannabigerol): unlike CBD, it appears to bind directly to CB1 and CB2 receptors. Research is more recent and still limited, but some preliminary studies suggest it may support a sense of calm without heaviness, keeping the mind clear. A 2024 pilot study on a small group of volunteers observed a possible reduction in perceived stress, while laboratory research is investigating its potential antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

In short, early evidence links CBD more to relaxation and CBG to a "clearer" kind of wellbeing. These findings still need confirmation, but they help explain why CBD flower lovers find CBG buds a different experience. In Cali CBG, CBD is absent: the profile is entirely focused on cannabigerol.

Cali CBG comes from Cannabis sativa L. hemp grown in compliance with Italian Law 242/2016. THC is present at just 0.07%, almost three times below the 0.2% legal limit.
